BIO

Steele, A stylized dramatic baritone trained in the Bel Canto Singing tradition, has the versatility and range that give him the unique ability to sing a fine line between modern and operatic styles. Educated in music college at The University of North Texas, Steele, lists as his inspirations the composers Claude Debussy and Franz Liszt; the writers T.S. Elliot and John Cheever; and pop musical icons David Bowie and Morrissey.

Joining Steele, who is addition to singing, plays guitar, bass, piano, and synthesizer on The Expat, are guitarist Scott Ayers (The Walking Timebombs), guitarist Don Mackenzie, and drummer Richard Cholakian.

The "no fluff" bio - Started piano lessons at age five. Along the way tried drums, then guitar and voice before a mild detour with the bass. There was an ill-fated attempt at modeling in both Houston and Los Angeles, which became too districting. So, back to studying bass, getting "serious" this time long enough to take instructions from Jeff Berlin in Los Angles Ca. It was a good attempt, but clearly not fulfilling. So then, onward to achieve musical greatness, then attended the University of North Texas. While at UNT, got serious again and focused on music theory and composition with a prominent (unnamed) professor and was nominated "Junior Student of the Year", which he did not win. Left UNT during the senior year to work for (an unnamed computer company), briefly putting music aside in favor of technology. Built a recording studio. Got back into music full-time and recorded The Expat. All of that is basically true in one way or another, and is all you really need to know.
